Team Rules

Players:

1.     Have fun.

2.     Attendance is mandatory at all practices and games.  If you can not make a practice or game it is the players/parents responsibility to notify the coach(s) or team manager.

3.     Be on time and ready to either practice or play the game.

4.     Players should be able to perform basic soccer skills (i.e. juggle, dribble, heading, etc.)

5.     All players must participate in fundraisers.

6.     Players are expected to give 100% at all practices, games and fundraisers.

7.     No arguing with each other, coach(s), parents or referees under any circumstances.

8.     Players must show up to games in the proper uniform.

9.     Practice time is serious, be attentive and no horsing around.

10.   Players must show up to all practices with ball, shin guards and water.

11.   Never encourage, condone or participate in any activities that may intentionally injury players/spectators, or damage soccer facilities.

12.    Play your best and play fair no matter what the outcome.

13.    Grades are expected to be maintained at a level set by your parents.  Education is much more important than soccer. 

Discipline: Listed below are the possible consequences for breaking any of the team rules.  It is important that you as a member of this team abide by the rules set forth.  It is the discretion of the coach(s) as to what disciplinary action will be taken if a rule is broken.

  • Laps
  • Sprints
  • Drills
  • Not play in a game
  • Expulsion from the team

Parents:

 ODSL Code of Conduct - Parents

Conduct yourself with honor and dignity at all times. (Your actions reflect on the team, club, community association, and soccer)

1.      Be fair always no matter what the outcome.

2.      Know and obey the laws of the game.

3.      Work for the good of the team.

4.      Accept the decisions of the officials with good grace.

5.      Be generous when your team wins.

6.      Be graceful when your team loses.

7.      Believe in the honesty of your opponents.

8.      Let them play, remember that you are not a player on this team.

9.      Support your team, coaches and representatives. (Discuss issues in private)

10.    Never encourage, condone or participate in any activities that may result in injuries to players and spectators, or result in damage to soccer facilities.

11.    Develop and encourage an appreciation of the game of Soccer.

12.    Support the soccer community.
